Highlights of Turkey in 12 Days
Discover all of Turkey’s foremost sights in a fortnight, get to swim in the Mediterranean, sample the delicious foods of Turkish cuisine, witness the Anatolian cultural diversity and enjoy the fantastic scenery of the beautiful Turkish landscape.
  
Day 1  -  Departure: Any date in 2026 Visit the memorials of the World War I site of Gallipoli. Stay in Canakkale
Leaving Istanbul after the breakfast, this morning we'll make the five-hour drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula. It was at Gallipoli in 1916 that, after eight months of bloody hand-to-hand fighting and loss of life, the ill-fated Allied campaign was forced to concede victory to the Turks and withdraw. Whilst here we visit Anzac Cove - the infamous site of the Anzac landing, as well as the Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Cemetery and the war belongings exhibited in the sobering Kabatepe War Museum.
Later this afternoon, we'll board a 30-minute ferry ride to travel across the Dardanelles to Canakkale, where we'll spend the night. Off the main tourist trail, this lively port city is a great place to sample locally caught seafood and join locals taking an evening stroll along the seafront where you can see the Trojan Horse replica.

Day  2 : Explore the ancient sites of Troy and Alexandroas Troas, Assos Ancient City
Today we have some free time in Canakkale to discover Canakkale fortres and free time in Canakkale then, we have a nice day of travelling. First, we'll drive the short distance to the ancient city of Troy where, according to legend, the artful Ulysses devised the wooden horse strategy, thereby ending the ten-year Trojan War. Here, nine ruined cities, one on top of the other, have been uncovered, going back some 5,000 years. Troy VI is the assumed walled city of King Priam (1800-1275 BC), celebrated by the blind Greek poet Homer in the Iliad and all but lost in legend until unearthed by amateur archaeologist Schliemann in 1871.
Boarding our bus again, we'll make our journey to Alexandra Troas ancient city and  Apollon Smintheon Site, Then drive to Assos ancient city to discover the site and enjoy the nice view from the acropolis.

Day 3 –  Visit Olive Oil Museum- Visit Pergamon Unesco Site  and drive to Greco-Roman city of Ephesus.
Today we leave Assos and enroute we stop Olive Oil museum in Edremit. Then we visit the Greco-Roman remains at Pergamon. Pergamon gave its name to and was the source of 'parchment', for which it was famous throughout the Middle East. We'll visit the striking acropolis, impressively perched above the modern-day town of Bergama, which contains the remains of a library, a theatre, temples and altars. Later this afternoon, we'll drive to Selcuk, a further three hours away. Upon arrival we visit isa bey mosque and St john Castle.

Day 4 –  Visit the famed Greco-Roman city of Ephesus
This morning, we'll spend some time exploring Selcuk's historic neighbour, the great Greco-Roman city of Ephesus accompanied by a local guide. Visited by Mark Anthony and Cleopatra, and having inspired Saint Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians, this famous seaport reached its zenith in the 2nd century AD. Ephesus became one of the main cultural and economic centres of the ancient world until it went into decline after the 7th century. Saint John spent the last years of his life in Ephesus and wrote his Gospel here. It's believed that Mary, mother of Jesus, also came here with him.
Today, its impressive ruins include a theatre, gymnasium, agora, and baths, as well as the photogenic intricately carved stone facade of the Library of Celsus. The ruins here are extensive with plenty of ornate columns and grand arches to discover.
In Selcuk we'll have the chance to visit a traditional carpet weaver and explore the town. Later this afternoon, We visit isa bey mosque, artemis temple, if time lets us optinal sites to visit: Ephesus archeology museum, sirince village, virgin marry house

Day 5 -. Drive to Pamukkale Explore Pamukkale and Hierapolis. Drive to Dalyan
Today we'll drive to Pamukkale (around two and a half hours away). To discover Pamukkale. The city's name translates as the 'cotton castle' and is inspired by the extensive white terraces that cover the hillside, created by the white calcareous concretions deposited by mineral springs. It's home to one of Turkey's most impressive natural wonders - the 'frozen waterfall'. A boardwalk offers spectacular views of the unusual white terraced pools with their crystal blue waters and the valley below. Don't miss Cleopatra's Pool - an oasis of beauty with a mirror-like clarity that allows us to see deep down to the ruins below.
Above the terraced pools is the ancient spa town of Hierapolis with its well-preserved Roman baths, tombs and an impressive theatre. People have been making the most of Hierapolis' thermal waters since the 2nd century BC to as recently as the mid-20th century when hotels were constructed on top of its priceless ruins. Luckily, UNESCO World Heritage status saved the site from further damage.
Later this afternoon, we'll drive south to the Turquoise Coast, which takes around three and a half hours to Fethiye for overnight.

Day 6 –  Aminthas- Ghost Town Kayakoy- Oludeniz- Coastal Road to KAS
Fethiye, the crown of the Turquoise coast, we take a stop at the Fethiye view point to admire scenery of Fethiye Bay as well as the Lycian Rock Tombs of Amintas and the old ancient theatre. We will then have a short drive to the ghost town Kayakoy. After having lunch at a local restaurant with tasty local dishes, we will continue to the famous Lycian Way view point to admire the true wonder of the nature, Oludeniz Lagoon.We will have an opportunity to put our feet in the cool waters of the Mediterranean

Day 7   Drive to Antalya, visit Lycian cities enroute, Kekova Boat trip option-Cirali flames trekking Antalya old town 
After we have our breakfast, we will a scenic coastal route will bring us to our eventual destination today, Antalya the Turkish Riviera.
We have many sites along the way, lycia has 52 ancient city. Depend on your choices we can visit one of these sites: Kekova boat trip, Myra, Cirali Chimera Flames The we drive to get to our hotel in Antalya old town, we will have a number of photo stops. We will then stroll around for sightseeing in the old town also called “Kaleici” among the locals. It is surrounded with solid medieval city walls and travertine bluffs. The old town was established as a colony of Pergamum Kingdom in the 2nd century B.C.

Day 9 Visit Aspendos Theatre, Drive to Konya
Having discovered the coastal Turkey in it entirety, it is now time to go inland. Aspendos theatre, en-route to Konya is a magnificent ancient theatre that once seated up to 20.000 spectators. Visit Eflatuın Pinar, visit Esrefoglu Unesco Mosque
 Next, we will continue onto Konya and visit the lodge of Whirling Dervishes, the eternal rest place of Rumi, his family and his avid followers. We will also take the opportunity to explain the doctrines of his philosophy. Konya stands out with thin crispy pizza like snacks that are served with various toppings in butter. Okra soup is also a must to try as well as tandoor lamb.

Day 10  Visit Catalhoyuk, Drive to Nigde - Cappadocia
When we head to Cappadocia, we will stop at Catalhoyuk. Discovered in 1954 by the British Archeologist James Mellaart, Catalhoyuk turned out to be one of the first villages founded in the world which was established in the New Stone Age (circa 7000 BC).  We visit Nigde Gumusler Monastry and drive to Goreme for overnight or stay in Nigde Goncü konagi, we have a home visit and home stay dinner here. 
 
Day 11   In Cappadocia
The surreal landscape of Cappadocia, created by successive volcanic eruptions and continuous erosion is a huge national park. Its incredible formations and rock-cut churches from the early Christianity are being enlisted as a UNESCO world heritage site! People are still living caves within the region and each town has a somewhat troglodyte character! There are more than 100 underground cities adding an unbeatable feature to the area.
 Our in depth tour will start with a visit to the world famous UNESCO World Heritage site Kaymakli Underground City. The natural rock formation of Uchisar town called Uchisar Citadel offers the best views of the whole region below your feet. The UNESCO Goreme Open Air Museum contains some of the best frescoes in the world representing the early Christian art and existence in Cappadocia region. Pasabag fairy chimneys are a must due to the fact that they are colossal and each spearing into the sky by their tall and pointy shapes. Cavusin village is where once Christians and Turks settled together. There, once inhabited homes reflect the beauty of the Cappadocian civil architecture. Devrent imagination valley is, as the name implies, going to invoke your senses where thousands of big and small mother nature carved figures scatter across the landscape.
 Before we call it a day, we will visit a cultural center in Cappadocia to watch the Whirling Dervishes Ceremony which will complete picture for Rumi’s order and its significance.

Day 12 In Cappadocia

This morning while we have the best light, we will go for a hike around Red and Rose valleys. The views will be absolutely spectacular out there. Moreover, the surreal formations are partially carved-out and decorated with frescoes by the Byzantine Christian monks will be among the things to see during our walk. This afternoon, we are going to Avanos for lunch and to see the longest river of Turkey, Kizilirmak (eg. red river). For thousands of years, Cappadocian people used the red clay obtained from the old banks of the river and shaped it on the kick-wheels. It is still an important income for the region. We will get to see one of the pottery ateliers to learn more about the still used ancient techniques of shaping, outlining, glazing and painting. We will deliberately finish our last day early to give you some time on own.
